no honor in killing:
Making Visible Buried Truth

This art intervention was dedicated to the memory of five women victims of so-called honor killing in Nasserabad , which shocked the nation. The show, which was supported by several women rights organizations, aimed to keep the story alive in the media and public memory to help get justice for the victims.
The art of 35 artists in the show made a strong collective statement to criminalize all violence in the name of honor. For two years, as the exhibition travelled through big and small towns of Pakistan , local artists were invited to join in with their own narratives. Community dialogue around the theme was an integral part of the curatorial concept . In Khairpur , youth affected by domestic violence staged small skits to support the show. All the exhibitions were visited by local audiences and received as a show of solidarity in the shared struggle against honor crimes.
